Monterey Grand Prix 2016

Some random pics of Andrew and I at the IMSA Monterey Grand Prix on May 1, 2016. I was able to score a PCA car corral ticket last minute which was great, thank you PCA and their volunteers! Their hospitality tent is always nice, and the people there are generally great. The open grid walk before the first race is always a great time to do some great car (and people) watching, you end up seeing all types of both. These pics are random, but started with a fill up on the way down and ended up with a thoroughly tired out kid on the way home. What I didn’t include was a quick trip to a local beach on the way out, no better way to end a great day at the track, great weather too.

991.2 Unveiling

The new 991.2 unveiling at Livermore Porsche on April 17, 2006. Pretty awesome event, must have been 200-300 people there at least, very cool. I don’t have tons of 991.2 Pics here, frankly because those are everywhere now. What I thought was really interesting was a $1 Million 918 Spyder in the air with all it’s ass end hanging out exposed… and a very pricey Carrera GT in the house too.

New Years Day 2016

New Years Day has finally come, started out with a visit to the annual Livermore Porsche New Year’s gathering and then a ride through the Santa Cruz mountains with the Norcal 928 group, good fun to open 2016.

SEMA 2015

Well, a last minute road trip to SEAM presented itself and I hit the road! Arrived on Wed afternoon, hit the show for a few hours and headed over to the Red Bull Global Rally Cross Finals. What a wet muddy mess of a track, I can’t remember when it rained during SEMA. Great first experience with that, even though Ken Block didn’t win!

Spent Thursday and half of Friday wandering the many halls and aisles. There are endless things to see there and 2 days just isn’t enough time, it never is. The RWB Porsches were out in force, several scattered throughout the event. The Ford out Front area was as great as last year and the new GT Le Mans car on display was simply awesome. Chevrolet had a great area but as last year it just didn’t seem to have as much excitement as the Ford areas had. Enjoy the pictures…an 8 hour ride home is calling. Until next year!

Porsche Rennsport Reunion V

Holy Cow, Rennsport Reunion is in the books and what an event! I literally could not count the number of Porsches there, from your everyday Supercar Turbo S to the humble 924 to the very early of 356’s and everything in between! It was truly Porsche heaven. I went down with my little girl Friday late in my 87 S4, set up camp and just tried to take it all in. I watched the giveaway of the Club Coupe, which by the way is a stunning collectible edition and saw some fellow 928’s in the crowd… which if I may comment… there were only a handful at the entire event. There needs to be more of these future classics out there. 911’s are great and all but there were so many varieties of them… we need some of the other models to step it up!

NorCal 928 Club Meet and Drive

Had a great time today with the 928! We all met at Parts Heaven and drove out through Skyline Dr. to Moss Beach Distillery.
