Winning C7R Pit Area

This is the scene a few mins before 3pm on Sunday at race end from the perspective of the winning C7R corvette team pit area.

Camping or “Glamping” at Le Mans

The camping scene here was incredible in that there were so many campers in so many areas around the circuit, never seen anything like it!

Special Ferrari vs Ford Le Mans Display

These priceless beauties were housed in a special building exhibit at the 24 HR of Le Mans 2015

Michelin Hospitality at the 2015 24 HR of Le Mans

The Hospitality provided by Michelin was unbelievable throughout the event, it was open for the entire 24 HR race. The balcony upstairs was right on the track at the last few curves before the finish line, simply stunning.

Le Mans 24 HR Race Day

I have different perspectives from the start of the race here… we watched the actual start at 3 PM Saturday from the second chicane area, theres a few shots from the Porsche S Curves and a great viewpoint right off the balcony of the Michelin Hospitality area, also some random car display shots from around the circuit. This is what I called “sensory overload”

Le Mans Cathedral and Farmer’s Market

This is the Le Mans Cathedral (Cathédrale St-Julien du Mans) that dates back to the 6th century. Truly amazing construction details inside and out and I’m sure tons and tons of history. This was the backdrop for our vantage point of the driver’s parade on Friday but we visited it a few more times to explore inside and out. There was a farmer’s market there a couple of mornings which was very interesting, so many things sold there. I was especially intrigued by the food trucks themselves, unlike anything I’ve seen here. One of the mornings, we noticed a pretty massive French SWAT team presence in the city instead of the farmer’s market and later found out that the President was attending the race, no wonder!

Arrival into Le Mans and Thursday Qualifying

Well, we are finally home and because of the spotty internet access in Europe, I am going to upload over the next several days pics from the trip in sequence. So, here’s some pics from our arrival day into Le Mans… we flew into Paris, hopped on a train into Le Mans, checked into our room and headed over to the track to catch the last qualifying session and to check out the Michelin facilities…
